Space DataBase Geographic Information System
Welcome to the Humboldt State University Space Data Base Geographic Information System, which we believe is a significant tool for space planning processes. If you are not already there, go to the following URL.
http://demos3.calcad.com/HumboldtFM/FindRooms.php
This site is a functional "beta", however there is still more work to be completed. This little project will let anyone interested in planning, view campus space inventory by a selection of Information types that are turned into a Query.
For example if you go to the "Space Type" section and scroll to "0010 Tch Lab", and then click on "Submit Query", you will get a listing of all the teaching labs on campus (there should be 114 records). If you scroll to the bottom of the table, you will see the last two lines are Averages and Totals. Below the Totals line is a button "View in Excel" which will convert the data to a spreadsheet for further manipulation. (If you do a “file, save-as” be sure and identify the “.xls” file type –It’s not the default.)

NOW FOR THE BEST PART. Click on a room number say "089-0313--" and the site will take you to a floor plan of that building showing that room and all the other teaching labs on that floor of that building. Be patient this version is still in development and is very slow.
